Tokaido

The road through which Shogun passed.

You can experience the highway of Japanese history.

Even if you don’t bother writing here, you know, but Japanese history is very interesting.

In particular, Samurai played an active role, Shogun built a castle decorated with gold fish, and the ninjas were in the dark.

There was a road connecting Tokyo and Kyoto.

The name is also called “Toukaidou”.Nobunaga Oda, a boss and revolutionary of the Japanese samurai, also passed through the times, including the general Ieiyas Tokugawa, who was the champion who unified the world, and samurai who were now heroes passed road. Hokusai, famous for its ukiyo-e, also walked along this road. By the way, Shogun is the king of Tonosama who are bosses called “Daimyou” in various places.

As a landmark, pine trees were planted on both sides of this road, which became a landmark for people passing through the road.

This road still remains in Kakegawa. If you love Japanese history and have a rich imagination, you have no choice but to follow this path. You can see the samurai and hero walking 400 years ago.

“Toukaido” is dotted with guest house towns called “Sukuba” where people who traveled on foot are staying, and people walked while staying there. “Nissakashuku” is one of them, and you can still visit the wooden guest houses that were used as inns during the Edo period.

“Sayo-no-nakayaama pass” is a point that crosses the mountain west of Nissakashuku, and the strange story “Yonakiishi” (the stone that makes baby cry at night) is transmitted.

Also, in the east of “Shiinokijaya” where you can eat “Kakegawa yam soup”, which is famous for Kakegawa, you can still see samurai from the other side of the scenery where wonderful pine trees cover the road.

Near the Kakegawa station, Otemon is a huge gate of Kakegawa castle, and as an important entrance to the castle at that time, you can understand people’s feelings about Tonosama, the master of Kakegawa Castle.

To walk the Tokaido, to go to meet Samurai and Shogun.

I hope that a wonderful scene will appear in front of you.
